
In Peshawar, Mohmand, and Nowshera districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan, three people were killed and 14 others were injured in incidents related to heavy rainfall, local media reported on Thursday.
Bilal Ahmad Faizi, a spokesperson for Rescue 1122, stated that a child died and two others were injured in a roof collapse incident in the Mattani area of Peshawar, as reported by Dawn, Pakistan's leading daily. The rescue workers took the injured to the hospital. He also mentioned that people were stranded due to flooding in the Mian Gujjar and Islamabad Korona areas.
Faizi further stated that three members of a family were injured in a roof collapse incident in the Rahimabad area of Nowshera district. He said that two children and a woman were taken to the Pabbi hospital for treatment.
Two people were killed and nine others were injured in incidents related to heavy rainfall in the Mohmand tribal district. A girl was killed after a room in her home collapsed in the Shaheed Banda area. Five people were injured in a similar incident in the Karari area of the Ekkaghund tehsil. A man died after a room collapsed due to heavy rain in the Sra Khawa area of the Baizai subdivision.
According to rescue officials, four people were injured in a roof collapse incident in the Dawezai Dawat Kor area of the Pindiali tehsil in Mohmand district on Wednesday.
Record rainfall and damage have been reported in the Mohmand tribal district. According to officials, 151 millimeters of rain fell in 2026, surpassing the previous record of 134 mm set in 2013. The continuous rainfall flooded low-lying areas and caused the seasonal streams to swell, as reported by Dawn.
People have been displaced as hundreds of houses and boundary walls have been destroyed or damaged. Roads in several tehsils have been washed out, isolating residents and hindering rescue efforts.
Similarly, livestock and standing crops have been damaged in incidents related to heavy rainfall, causing financial losses to people, as per the report.
On March 5, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) in its report said that at least 45 people were killed and 105 others were injured after heavy rains caused roof and wall collapses across several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa since the end of March.
In its latest report, PDMA stated that casualties were caused due to roof and wall collapse amid heavy rains across several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The PDMA said that the deceased include 23 children, 17 men, and five women, while the injured include 45 men, 16 women, and 44 children, as reported by Geo News, Pakistan's leading media outlet.
As many as 442 houses were damaged in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including 382 partially and 60 completely destroyed.
