
Barabanki (UP), March 1 A somber atmosphere hung over the Kintur village in the Barabanki district on Sunday following the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei amidst the ongoing US-Israel strikes.
Locals say that Kintur, in the Badosarai area, shares an ancestral connection with Ayatollah Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini – the mentor of Khamenei – whose ancestors are believed to have migrated from the village to Iran around 150 years ago.
Khomeini is known for leading Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution and as the founding father of the Islamic republic.
Despite the changes over time, villagers say that the lineage and its historical association continue to hold emotional significance.
