KISHTWAR, FEBRUARY 22: The Department of Youth Services & Sports, Kishtwar District, organized the Youth Engagement Programme – 2026 at Chowgan Ground, marking a significant push for grassroots sports in the district.
The event saw the launch of the "League of Classics," with block-level trial-cum-selection competitions in Cricket, Football, and Volleyball for U-17 and U-19 boys at the Inter-Panchayat and Municipal Council levels.
The initiative was held under the direction of Director General YSS Anuradha Gupta and Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma, and supervised by DYSSO Kishtwar Jaffer Haider Sheikh.
Young athletes from various Panchayats and wards participated enthusiastically. Officials ensured fair and transparent trials, paving the way for selected players to compete at District, Divisional, and UT levels.
