
KISHTWAR, April 8: The School Education Department launched a three-day district-level awareness program at Government Degree College, Kishtwar, covering topics such as road safety, mental health, drug de-addiction, environmental protection, and career guidance.
Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma attended as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the event. The program is part of a larger initiative launched by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Jammu.
The DC highlighted a recent tree-planting drive across 869 schools, with 2,000 saplings planted in a single day, and a target of 20,000. He also outlined the program's focus on expert sessions, student activities, and community outreach.
Students, teachers, and officials actively participated, while the Motor Vehicles Department distributed road safety awareness materials. The initiative aims to promote awareness and community engagement across the district.
