Kochi, March 21 A man has been arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a popular Malayalam film actress in Kaloor, police said on Saturday.
The accused has been identified as Vibin Roy, a native of Kathrikadavu.
According to police, the incident occurred on Thursday evening, when the actress was walking towards a shop on Stadium Link Road in Kaloor.
Police said Roy allegedly followed the actress and sexually harassed her before fleeing the scene.
The actress later approached the police with a complaint, following which a case was registered at the Palarivattom police station.
Police said Roy had been repeatedly sending messages to the actress on a social media platform, and she had blocked him.
Angered by this, he allegedly followed the actress and misbehaved with her.
Following an investigation, police identified the accused and arrested him on Friday night.
He will be produced before a court soon as part of the remand proceedings.
