In light of the expected high volume of devotees traveling to the holy shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi during the upcoming Navratri, the Northern Railway has decided to add an additional sleeper coach to Train No. 13151/13152 (Kolkata–Jammu Tawi–Kolkata Express). An Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that this facility will be available from March 20 to April 2. This move is expected to significantly improve the chances of ticket confirmation for passengers currently on long waiting lists and help reduce overcrowding in the existing coaches, thereby ensuring a safer and more comfortable journey. With a surge in pilgrim traffic during Navratri, the addition of the extra coach is likely to benefit a large number of passengers traveling to Jammu. Railway authorities stated that this provision could enable around 72 to 80 waitlisted passengers to secure confirmed berths each day. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, said that the decision was taken in response to the sharp increase in passenger demand during the festive period. He added that the Railways are closely monitoring waiting list trends and will take further measures, if required, to facilitate passengers. Passengers have been advised to check the latest berth status on the official Railway website or through the helpline number 139 or the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) before commencing their journey.
