In light of the anticipated heavy influx of devotees visiting the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine during the upcoming Navratri, the Northern Railway has decided to add an additional sleeper coach to Train No. 13151/13152 (Kolkata–Jammu Tawi–Kolkata Express).
According to officials, this facility will be available from March 20 to April 2. This move is expected to significantly improve the chances of ticket confirmation for passengers currently on long waiting lists and help reduce overcrowding in existing coaches, thereby ensuring a safer and more comfortable journey.
With a surge in pilgrim traffic during Navratri, the addition of the extra coach is likely to benefit a large number of passengers traveling to Jammu. Railway authorities said that this provision could enable around 72 to 80 waitlisted passengers to secure confirmed berths each day.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said that the decision was taken in view of the sharp increase in passenger demand during the festive period. He added that the Railways are closely monitoring waiting list trends and will take further measures, if required, to facilitate passengers.
Passengers have been advised to check the latest berth status on the official Railway website or through the helpline number 139.
