Rahul Dey (35) was found lying in a pool of blood around 12:30 am on the roof of a residential building in the East Phulbagan locality. His friend, Jeet Mukherjee, who owns a flat there, was also found lying by his side in an injured state.
Both were rushed to a local hospital, where Dey was declared dead on arrival, while Mukherjee was admitted in a critical condition, the police official said.
Police said that several people, including Dey and Mukherjee, were on the roof and were having food and drinks. Dey was invited to Mukherjee's flat, and the two were drinking on the rooftop while some others joined them. After some time, the two friends got into an argument with the others, leading to the firing, the police official said.
