April 3, Kohima: The Mokokchung district Police have apprehended one person for illegally possessing arms and ammunition from the Chungtia village, which falls under the Koridang Assembly Constituency in Nagaland, ahead of the upcoming elections.
A press release from the Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung, stated that a domestically manufactured .22 pistol, along with its magazine and three .22 caliber bullets, one unregistered motorcycle, and one mobile phone were seized from 23-year-old, Imtinungchet, last evening.
The release added that a case has been registered against the apprehended person under the Arms Act, and further investigation is underway.
It may be noted that a by-election to the Koridang Assembly Constituency is scheduled to be held on the 9th of this month.
