
Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma informed the Assembly that compensation for privately owned land acquired by the government for the construction of the Bairabi–Sairang railway line has been fully disbursed.
Addressing members during the Assembly session, the Chief Minister stated that the State Government had received funds to compensate individuals affected by the railway project in the Aizawl and Kolasib districts.
According to the Chief Minister, a total of ₹2,438,381,046 was received and distributed to affected landowners in the Aizawl district, while ₹668,034,518 was allocated and disbursed to beneficiaries in the Kolasib district. He confirmed that the entire amount received for both districts has been paid out to eligible individuals.
Pu Lalduhoma further stated that, in cases determined through court rulings concerning land value and accrued interest, an additional ₹2,213,346,048 has been awarded to landowners. He emphasised that all affected individuals whose claims were duly approved by the government have received their compensation.
