Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma launched the first phase of the 2027 India Census (House Listing and Housing Census).
Aizawl, April 1, 2026: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma launched the first phase of the 2027 India Census (House Listing and Housing Census) by conducting self-enumeration. This marks the beginning of the 2027 Census in Mizoram.
The 2027 India Census will be conducted in two phases. The first phase, known as the House Listing and Housing Census, will run for six months until September 2026. During this period, data on the condition of houses, available household amenities, and assets owned by households will be collected. The second phase, called the Population Enumeration, will begin in February 2027. The state government has requested the people of Mizoram to cooperate with the officials during the census.
