
Latur, March 29 The Latur district administration has secured a place among the top five performing districts in Maharashtra under the General Administration Department's 150-day e-governance reform program, an official said on Sunday.
In recognition of this achievement, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis felicitated Collector Varsha Thakur-Ghuge at an event held in Mumbai in the presence of IT and Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar and Chief Secretary Rajesh Agrawal, the official added.
The 150-day e-governance action plan was launched with the aim of making administrative processes more transparent, efficient, technology-driven, and citizen-centric, he said, adding that the Latur district administration began implementing the program from June 1 last year.
"Key initiatives included website upgrades, implementation of the Right to Services (RTS) Act, adoption of the e-office system, development of data dashboards, deployment of a WhatsApp chatbot, and the use of artificial intelligence (AI), GIS, and remote sensing technologies. Based on a comprehensive evaluation, Latur district scored 179.25 out of 200 marks," he said.
Thakur-Ghuge said the success was due to teamwork and innovative use of modern technology.
