
Latur, March 17 A 50-year-old man and his son were killed after a speeding car crashed into their motorcycle on a roadside in Latur district, Maharashtra, police said on Tuesday.
The accident occurred near Umarga Pati village in Jalkot tehsil around 8 pm on Sunday, an official said.
Ankush Vishwanath Gite, a deputy sarpanch, and his son Omkar (24) were on their motorcycle when a speeding car crashed into them, causing them to fall into a ditch, he said.
Locals rushed the duo to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead on arrival, the official said.
The occupants of the car survived as the airbags deployed in the vehicle during the crash, he added, noting that the car driver was handed over to the police.
