New Delhi, Apr 1 New BJP entrant and former tennis player Leander Paes called on Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday, a day after joining the party.
Gupta, in a post on X, shared a photo of her "courtesy" meeting with Paes.
"Your extensive experience in the field of sports and your commitment towards the nation will surely prove useful for society. Heartiest well wishes for your bright future and the new journey of public service," Gupta posted.
The Indian tennis player joined the BJP in Delhi on Tuesday ahead of several state elections, including in West Bengal, saying it is "not just a formality but a responsibility" and a big opportunity to serve the nation.
Paes, 52, was earlier with the Trinamool Congress, the ruling party in West Bengal.
