
Mumbai, March 25 Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma prorogued both houses of the state legislature on Wednesday, bringing to a close a nearly six-week budget session during which key bills, including the Maharashtra Freedom of Religion Bill, were passed.
The session commenced on February 23.
The prorogation order was read out in the assembly by Speaker Rahul Narwekar and Chairman Ram Shinde in the council.
The next session of the legislature will commence on June 22.
