
April 02, New Delhi: During the ongoing budget session of Parliament, key legislative developments occurred in both Houses.
In the Rajya Sabha, the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Amendment Bill, 2026, was passed on Thursday. The Bill aims to further amend the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014.
The Lok Sabha is currently discussing the Central Armed Police Forces (General Administration) Bill, 2026, which was passed by the Rajya Sabha yesterday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will move the Bill in the Lok Sabha today. The legislation regulates the recruitment, service conditions of Group A General Duty Officers, and other officers in the Central Armed Police Forces.
During the Rajya Sabha session, Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, highlighted that 90% of India's satellites since independence have been launched in the last decade under the government of Prime Minister Modi. He also noted that this period generated the highest financial returns in Euros and Dollars from the country's satellite programme.
These developments reflect Parliament's ongoing focus on administrative reforms, regional governance, and India's growing capabilities in space technology.
