LG Reviews Preparations for 'Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir' Initiative.webp

In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today chaired a high-level meeting to review the preparations for the upcoming 100-day intensive campaign under the "Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir" initiative. Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that the campaign, aimed at eradicating drug abuse from the Union Territory, will feature a series of high-impact awareness programs. The LG will launch a large-scale "Padyatra" (procession) from Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu, on April 11, followed by a similar large-scale launch in Srinagar during the first week of May. The LG emphasized the importance of widespread public participation from students, youth, NCC, NSS, Scouts & Guides, volunteers, civil society organizations, political parties, public representatives, and the general public to maximize outreach and awareness. The LG stated that the influx of drugs into the UT is part of a larger international conspiracy to jeopardize the future of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. Every section of society must join this fight against drug abuse. The LG directed for continuous and intensive drives to dismantle drug trafficking networks. The meeting also discussed the planned activities and departmental activity calendar for the "Nasha Mukt Abhiyan." UT and Divisional Level Committees have already been constituted for effective implementation of the IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) campaign and action plan. The LG further directed that the campaign should be a "Jan Andolan" (people's movement) with active participation from the public. He also called for integrating public suggestions along with the feedback mechanism to make this campaign more impactful.
