
New Delhi, March 20 Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu interacted with the vice-chancellors and directors of the city's state universities on Friday, emphasizing the need for skills that complement degrees and enhance employability.
In a post on X, Singh said, "Education is crucial for the future of our youth and the nation, especially in achieving the vision of 'Viksit Bharat' under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi."
Emphasizing the need for skills that complement degrees and enhance employability, he further wrote, "I advised academic leaders to shift their focus from theory to application, particularly in emerging domains such as Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security."
He also encouraged institutions to actively build and leverage international academic and industry partnerships to upgrade their capabilities and global competitiveness.
He added that all institutions have been asked to present a concrete and time-bound action plan at the next meeting.
