Lightning Strike Claims Farmer's Life, Injures Two Sons.webp

Hardoi (UP), March 16 A farmer died and his two sons sustained severe burn injuries after being struck by lightning in the Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday.

According to the police, Awadhesh Singh (45), a resident of the Khairuddinpur Raja Sahab village under the Arwal police station limits, had gone to his field on Sunday morning along with his two minor sons, Shobhit (11) and Aman (8).

In the morning, while they were covering the harvested potato crop with plastic sheets to protect it from the rain, lightning suddenly struck.

All three individuals sustained severe burns as a result of the lightning strike. Family members immediately rushed them to the community health centre (CHC) in Harpalpur, where doctors declared Singh dead, while his sons are currently undergoing treatment.

The body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem examination, police said.
