Jammu, March 17 A senior army officer reviewed operational preparedness along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu's Akhnoor sector on Tuesday, officials said.
The operational preparedness was reviewed by General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Jammu-based White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General P K Mishra, who, along with the GOC of the Crossed Swords Division, visited forward areas of the Akhnoor sector, the army said.
"He (Lieutenant General Mishra) interacted with the troops deployed on the LoC and was briefed on the measures undertaken to strengthen defenses and enhance operational effectiveness," the White Knight Corps of the Army said in a post on X.
The Corps commended all ranks for their high morale, professionalism, and steadfast commitment to duty.
The Army said that the LoC is a place where technology, tactics, and tenacity converge, and that the forces remain always alert and dominant, ensuring an impenetrable frontier that stays secure.
The visit of the Army officer to the Akhnoor sector comes a week after the army foiled an infiltration attempt in the nearby Nowshera sector and killed a Pakistani terrorist.
