
Shillong, April 2 A fire broke out at a popular eatery in Shillong's Motphran area on Thursday afternoon, but no one was injured in the incident, an official said.
According to an eyewitness, the fire started from a stove where snacks were being prepared, and the diesel stored on the premises quickly caught fire.
The owner of the shop said they had switched to charcoal and diesel for cooking after experiencing "disruptions" in the LPG supply.
Fire and Emergency Services personnel rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control. No one was injured in the incident, a fire department official said.
