
Gangtok, March 24 Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang met with SKM candidates for the local elections on Tuesday, urging them to work together with humility and integrity.
During a meeting at Samman Bhavan, the SKM leader said the party would provide full support to the candidates throughout their electoral campaign, and advised them to complete the nomination formalities as soon as possible.
The meeting was attended by state ministers, political secretaries, and party MLAs.
Congratulating the candidates, Tamang said their dedication and service to the party had earned them the opportunity to contest the elections.
Elections will be held in all 63 wards of nine urban local bodies in the state on April 24. The votes will be counted on April 25.
The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) announced its list of candidates for all seats on Monday. Approximately 93,800 people will be eligible to vote in the elections.
