March 30th, Aizawl: The Indian Red Cross Society (Mizoram Branch) held a meeting chaired by its new Chairperson, Ms. K. Lalrinzuali, Secretary of the Health & Family Welfare Department, at the SAD Conference Hall in MINECO, Aizawl, today.
During the session, the committee reviewed the initiatives undertaken by the IRCS (Mizoram Branch) over the past year and outlined the plan of action for the current year. The meeting focused heavily on the upcoming World Red Cross Day on May 8, with members discussing a plan that would encompass all districts across Mizoram. Furthermore, they discussed strategies to expand the branch's reach and improve its future operations to provide greater benefits to the general public.
The Indian Red Cross Society is a crucial, globally recognized organization. For the Mizoram State Branch, the Governor serves as the President, while key government officials are appointed as core executive members to effectively manage the organization. In addition to providing various forms of public service locally, being part of a global entity, the society plays a vital role in consistently providing humanitarian aid and relief operations during disasters worldwide.
