
Lucknow, March 23 Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid tributes to socialist thinker Ram Manohar Lohia on his birth anniversary on Monday.
In a post on his official X account, Adityanath said, "Respectful tributes to the great freedom fighter, eminent socialist thinker, and proponent of 'Sapta Kranti', Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, on his birth anniversary."
He added that Lohia's commitment to social justice, equality, and "promoting Hindi as the national language" would continue to inspire efforts towards building a strong and self-reliant India.
Lohia was born on this day in 1910. A freedom fighter and follower of the Gandhian ideology, he worked for the political empowerment of marginalized communities and played a key role in uniting opposition parties against the then dominance of the Congress. He passed away in 1967.
