Lok Rang Utsav 2026 Showcases Regional Folk Performances

The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, in collaboration with the North Zone Cultural Centre, organized a national cultural and music program titled "Lok Rang Utsav 2026" in Doda on Wednesday, celebrating India's rich and diverse cultural heritage.

The vibrant event featured captivating folk performances by artists from Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, who mesmerized the audience with their colorful presentations. A local troupe also performed, adding a distinct regional flavor to the program.

Deputy Commissioner Krishan Lal, who was the Chief Guest, praised the initiative and appreciated the performers for their energetic presentations. Emphasizing the importance of cultural preservation, he said that culture represents a blend of the past and the future, and called for collective efforts to safeguard the nation's heritage.

Highlighting the vision of "Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat" (One India, Better India), he said that such events strengthen national unity and promote cultural integration. He also stressed the need to provide platforms for local artists, noting that Doda possesses a rich cultural legacy that deserves wider recognition.

Additional Secretary of JKACL, Lal Chand, described the festival as a celebration of India's living traditions, fostering cultural exchange and unity across regions.

Other attendees included ADDC Roshan Lal, ADC Anil Thakur, Assistant Director of NZCC Ravinder Sharma, and Chief Editor Sheeraza Punjabi, along with Popinder Singh Paras, along with a large number of art lovers, students, and locals.

The program was conducted by Sanjiv Shaad, while a vote of thanks was presented by Popinder Singh Paras.
