
Darbhanga (Bihar), April 3 A group of armed men looted jewellery worth crores and approximately Rs 25 lakh in cash from a jewelry shop in Darbhanga district, Bihar, on Friday afternoon, officials said.
The incident occurred in the Bara Bazaar area, and police are examining CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators, said Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Manoj Tiwari.
The owner of the shop, Manoj Thakur, said that four masked men entered the shop and "stole jewelry worth approximately Rs 2 crore, as well as cash between Rs 20-25 lakh".
However, a local shopkeeper claimed that six people were involved in the robbery. "Some of them entered the shop and filled bags with jewelry, while two others stood guard at the entrance," he said.
Police officials said that a case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
