Looting Incident: Five Arrested in Jharkhand.webp

Godda (Jharkhand), April 7 Five people were arrested for looting Rs 4.5 lakh from a businessman in Godda district, Jharkhand, police said on Tuesday.

The incident took place on April 3 on NH 133 near Mahuasol in the Pathargama police station area.

The accused, who were on motorcycles, chased and stopped the victim, identified as Kamal Kishore Singh (50), while he was travelling on a motorcycle from Pathargama to Godda.

They brandished weapons and looted Rs 4.5 lakh, which was the collection money from his business, Pathargama police station officer-in-charge Shiv Dayal Singh said, adding that the businessman had filed an FIR.

"We arrested the five accused on Monday. We have recovered Rs 4.06 lakh out of the Rs 4.5 lakh looted money, a country-made pistol, a cartridge, and a motorcycle from their possession," he said.

All five were sent to judicial custody on Tuesday, the OC added.
