LPG Agency Delay Triggers Road Block in Madhya Pradesh.webp

Raisen (Madhya Pradesh), March 14 Consumers blocked a road outside a gas agency in Raisen district on Saturday after failing to obtain LPG cylinders despite waiting in queues for hours, officials said.

Hundreds of LPG customers had been standing in a queue since around 7 am, but when the agency located on Sagar Road did not open until 10 am, an hour after it was supposed to start business, they became agitated.

A large number of women also joined the protest, alleging that the agency operator had provided no prior information and had made them wait for hours. Some women said they were even unable to prepare morning tea or food for their children, as their cooking gas had run out.

Sub-Divisional Magistrate Manish Sharma, who arrived at the scene with police personnel, calmed the protesters and got the agency office open. He instructed the staff to immediately begin distributing the cylinders.

Sharma told the agency operator that they could face strict action, including closure, if the distribution was delayed again or if consumers failed to receive LPG cylinders.

"I have warned the agency," the official told
