LPG Allocation Boosts Supply for Key Industries Amid Regional Tensions.webp

April 09, New Delhi – The Informal Group of Ministers, led by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, reviewed India's preparedness in light of recent developments in West Asia during its third meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The high-level meeting reviewed measures to ensure the uninterrupted availability of essential commodities and to protect Indian citizens amid rising regional tensions.

The ministers also assessed preparedness measures in response to the rapidly changing situation in the region.

The IGoM was informed that India has evacuated more vessels than any other country from the Strait of Hormuz over the past 40 days.

The IGoM has decided to further ease the supply of LPG to industrial segments by allocating 70% of fuel demand to non-domestic bulk consumers, with supply prioritized for key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, food, polymers, agriculture, packaging, paints, steel, and defence-related materials.
