LPG Cylinder Seizure in Telangana Amid Supply Concerns.webp

Hyderabad, April 3 Officers from the Telangana Civil Supplies Department have seized approximately 3,700 illegally stored domestic LPG cylinders since March 12 as part of a crackdown on misuse, officials said on Friday.

They also seized 70 small cylinders worth Rs 1.10 crore during the operation.

A total of 216 FIRs have been registered in connection with the crackdown, they said.

Civil Supplies Commissioner M Stephen Raveendra had warned in March of strict action against those found hoarding or black-marketing LPG cylinders.

Amid the ongoing crisis in West Asia, which has disrupted energy supplies through the Strait of Hormuz, the government has warned of strict action against those stealing cooking gas and individuals involved in hoarding, unauthorized storage, or illegally reselling LPG cylinders.
