Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, while addressing the media after the Cabinet meeting, stated that Meghalaya is still experiencing a slight shortage in domestic LPG supply, but the situation remains manageable. However, he pointed out that the shortage of commercial LPG is being faced across the entire country.

He further mentioned that the government has increased the supply allocation to 70 percent from the earlier levels across the state, although the actual impact of this increase is yet to be fully realized. He expressed hope that the supply situation will improve in the coming days.

The Chief Minister also noted that the Government of India is taking steps to address and minimize the issue. Regarding the bottling plant in the state, Sangma informed that the current government has already taken a decision, allotted land, and initiated work on the project. He added that such projects take time, but expressed optimism that it will be completed soon.
