Itanagar, March 24 The Papum Pare administration in Arunachal Pradesh has established monitoring committees to regulate the supply and distribution of LPG and petroleum products, officials said on Tuesday.
The move is intended to prevent hoarding and black marketing, and to ensure the continuous availability of essential fuels across the district, they said.
"The committees have been set up in light of the current international energy supply situation, and to strengthen the monitoring of LPG and POL distribution," an official notification stated.
The panels will oversee the supply and distribution of LPG cylinders and petroleum products within their respective jurisdictions to ensure there is no disruption or malpractice, it said.
The initiative follows recent advisories issued by the district administration, urging the public not to engage in panic booking or overstocking of LPG cylinders, while assuring that adequate supply is being maintained in the district.
The administration warned that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in hoarding, black marketing, or price manipulation of LPG cylinders and other petroleum products.
