Food and Civil Supplies Minister Methodius Dkhar assured today that there is no shortage of domestic LPG supply in Meghalaya, although he clarified that there is also no surplus availability.
Addressing concerns about supply, the Minister acknowledged that there is a shortage of commercial LPG cylinders due to the cap imposed by the Government of India on cylinder distribution.
He further informed that the State Government has written to the Union Government requesting an increase in LPG allocation for Meghalaya.
Meanwhile, the situation showed some improvement as the state received better supplies on Wednesday.
