LPG Supply Issues: Goa Government Responds.webp

Panaji, March 12 Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Thursday that there is no shortage of LPG for domestic use, even as long queues were witnessed outside cooking gas cylinder distributors across the coastal state.

The supply of LPG for commercial establishments has been affected amid the escalating conflict in West Asia, he said.

The ongoing assembly session on Thursday began with the Opposition raising concerns over the alleged shortage of LPG in the state.

Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao claimed that the long queues were witnessed across Goa outside the LPG cylinder distributors.

Alemao told the House that the government should provide clarification about the “emergency” situation that has arisen in Goa.

Responding to Alemao, the chief minister said there is no shortage of domestic cooking gas cylinders, though there is a problem with the supply of the fuel to commercial units.

He said the state government is in touch with the Centre over the issue. The CM said the state government will seek details from the Centre about the supplies and address the situation.

Meanwhile, long queues were seen at LPG cylinder agencies at various places in the state.
