
February 23, New Delhi – French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed Finnish President Alexander Stubb to the Élysée Palace on Monday, expressing continued support for Ukraine as the country marks four years of conflict.
Both leaders discussed security in the Arctic region and European defense.
President Macron stated that France was committed to implementing the European Union's 90 billion-euro loan to Ukraine, with 60 billion euros being dedicated to financing the delivery of military equipment and strengthening the defense industry in Ukraine and Europe.
He also said that France would work to exert more pressure on Russia, through EU sanctions and a maritime blockade of Russian oil.
