Bhopal, March 13 There is no shortage of LPG, PNG, and CNG in Madhya Pradesh, and citizens will not face any problems regarding the supply of cooking gas, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said.
After reviewing the situation in the state with top officials on Thursday night, he said the Narendra Modi government is fully vigilant regarding the West Asia crisis and has made all arrangements at the central and state levels to prevent the black marketing of these commodities.
"Citizens will not face any problems regarding cooking gas. There is no shortage of domestic cooking gas, PNG, and CNG in the state, and uninterrupted supply is being ensured to consumers," an official statement quoted him as saying.
"Due to the current situation regarding petroleum and natural gas, most crude oil supplies previously came from the Strait of Hormuz. This has been diverted to ensure the supply of crude oil from other locations. Furthermore, the country's refineries are operating at high capacity. The process of procuring natural gas through alternative suppliers is ongoing," the CM said in the meeting.
Domestic piped natural gas (PNG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) supplies are continuing without interruption, while refineries have been instructed to maximize liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) production, resulting in an increase of approximately 25 per cent, Yadav asserted.
"Additionally, a significant achievement has been achieved as ships and tankers flying the Indian flag will not be stopped from transiting the Strait of Hormuz. This is a diplomatic victory that will eliminate disruptions to petroleum supplies," he pointed out.
A Natural Gas Control Order has been issued to manage gas supplies, ensuring there is no shortage of domestic gas in the country, the CM added.
The statement said a committee of senior ministers has been formed as directed by the chief minister to monitor the situation.
"On the instructions of the chief minister, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain reviewed the availability of fuels, including LPG, via video conference with commissioners, collectors and superintendents of police on Thursday and issued necessary instructions," it said.
State Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana and Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Home Shivshekhar Shukla were present in the meeting, among others.
