
KATHUA, February 15: As part of Maha Shivratri celebrations, 1,100 earthen lamps were lit along the sacred water stream (Bowali) at the ancient Airwan Shiv Temple, accompanied by a devotional Ganga Aarti, creating a divine experience for devotees.
MLA Dr Bharat Bhushan, temple committee members, and thousands of devotees participated in the event, which marked the second such celebration following the Maha Kumbh at Prayagraj. The temple, revered as a mini-Ganga site, is being developed with ₹1.25 crore by the J&K government to enhance facilities for religious tourism.
An official website and email ID for the temple were also launched during the celebrations, attended by Tehsildar Anna Jamwal and the temple committee chairman.
