Nanded, March 12 A helicopter manufacturing plant will be established in Nanded, in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra, at an estimated cost of Rs 4,250 crore. This is expected to generate approximately 1,800 to 2,000 direct jobs, as well as several indirect jobs, said BJP Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Chavan on Thursday.
The plant, which will include manufacturing, assembly, and spare parts facilities, will be set up under an agreement between the state government and Retavia Private Limited, he added.
"The project will also provide engineering services, as well as maintenance and repair facilities for helicopters. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced this project in the assembly.
