Thane, March 17 A teenage boy is accused of molesting a 15-year-old girl and stripping her in front of her in Thane district, Maharashtra, according to police on Tuesday.
The police have registered a case against the 16-year-old boy under Section 74 (assault or use of criminal force against a woman) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in connection with the incident that took place in Ambernath town, an official said.
According to the complaint, the accused teenager, who had befriended the girl on social media, approached her outside her house on Monday afternoon, forcibly kissed her and stripped her in front of her, he said.
The traumatized girl narrated the ordeal to her parents, following which they lodged a police complaint, the official said, adding that an investigation is underway.
