
Thane, March 15 Actor Vishakha Subhedar and her son, Abhinay, who safely returned from Kuwait, met Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde at his residence in Thane on Sunday and expressed their gratitude for the assistance provided.
According to a statement from Shinde's office, Abhinay Subhedar returned to India from Kuwait after receiving assistance and coordination from Shinde.
"Continuing the tradition of helping citizens in distress, necessary coordination and assistance were provided due to the efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, following which Abhinay Subhedar safely returned to India from Kuwait," the statement said.
Shinde told the actor and her son that it is our responsibility to help citizens of Maharashtra whenever they face difficulties.
Shinde had intervened in similar situations to help Indian citizens facing difficulties abroad.
"A few days ago, 164 Indians stranded in Dubai due to a war-like situation in the Gulf region were also assisted in returning safely to India," the statement said.
