
Jishnu Dev Varma was sworn in as the Governor of Maharashtra this evening. The oath of office was administered to him by the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay, at Darbar Hall, Lok Bhavan, in Mumbai. Mr. Varma succeeds Acharya Devvrat, the Governor of Gujarat, who was also holding the additional charge as Governor of Maharashtra.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar, cabinet ministers, senior bureaucrats, and police officers were present at the event.
