Maharashtra Law Student Accused of Harassment.webp

Nagpur, March 27 A fourth-year BA LLB student at the Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) has been accused of harassing her younger roommate, according to a Nagpur police official on Friday.

The student was booked based on a complaint filed by a professor at the Butibori police station.

"According to the complaint, the second-year student has been experiencing harassment and mental distress for several months. Despite suffering from a cold, cough, and fever during the winter, the accused reportedly forced her to keep the ceiling fan running at high speed," the official said.

On one occasion, the accused refused to lower the fan's speed even after a security guard was sent by the warden to ask her to do so, the official added.

"Based on the Anti-Ragging Committee report, the police have registered a case. Further investigation is underway," he said.
