Maharashtra Metro Line 9: New Route Announced.webp

Thane, April 3 The Metro Line 9 rail service between Dahisar East and Mira Bhayandar will be inaugurated on April 6, Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik said on Friday.

Speaking to reporters here, he said the inauguration of the service was delayed due to certain factors.

"We were waiting for the safety clearance first, which we have now received...Now the date is set for April 6 for the inauguration of the route," Sarnaik said.

Once this service starts, people in the region will be relieved, as this was a long-standing demand, he said.

When asked about photos of several prominent political leaders with the self-proclaimed godman Ashok Kharat, who was arrested on charges of rape, cheating, and others, Sarnaik said, "Leaders and politicians come into contact with many people, and several of them call them throughout the day. In some cases, people even take pictures with the leaders and move with them. But we do not know the credentials of all of them."

"In this case, he turned out to be a notorious figure," the minister said.

He said it was the Mahayuti government that brought his misdeeds to light, and an investigation was underway into all his wrongdoings.
