
Beed, March 14 A minor girl was abducted from her home, sexually assaulted, and left unconscious at a village community center in Beed district, Maharashtra, a police official said on Saturday.
The incident took place on March 10 when the victim, who is married, was at her house with her husband, the official said.
"The accused entered the house, gagged her, and abducted her. He left her tied at the village community center after sexually assaulting her. She regained consciousness the following day. She then approached the Pimpalner police station after narrating her ordeal to her mother and uncle," he said.
A video of the incident has gone viral, causing widespread outrage.
The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is being carried out in collaboration with the 'Pink Squad', a specialized police unit dedicated to crimes against women, said Pimpalner police station assistant inspector Madhusudan Ghuge.
