
Beed, March 16 Unidentified individuals broke into a house and made off with gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh in the Beed district of Maharashtra, police said on Monday.
The incident occurred at the house of an employee of a thermal power station in the town of Parli Vaijnath on Friday, according to an official.
The thieves broke into a locked house and stole valuables worth Rs 5 lakh from the cupboard, he said, adding that the theft was discovered on Saturday morning.
A case has been registered based on a complaint, and an investigation is underway, the official said.
