
Latur, Apr 3 The Maharashtra government has appointed Dr. Bharat Bastewad as the new collector of the Latur district, replacing Varsha Thakur-Ghuge.
Bastewad, who was serving as the commissioner of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) in Nagpur, will assume the new responsibility with immediate effect.
Thakur-Ghuge has been transferred to Mumbai as the Joint Chief Executive Officer of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).
An official order to this effect was issued on Thursday, in which the government transferred 25 IAS officers, including several municipal commissioners and district collectors.
