
Mainpuri (UP), March 18 A mud house collapsed in a village, killing a woman and her two children, and leaving her husband and two other children injured, police said on Wednesday.
The house had mud walls and a tin roof, all of which collapsed on the family of six while they were sleeping on Tuesday night in Atpura village.
Upon receiving information, SDM Kuraoli Neeraj Dwivedi and SP City Arun Kumar Singh rushed to the spot with a police force to lead the rescue operations.
"Six people were pulled out from the debris and rushed to the hospital. Doctors declared three of them to be dead, while the remaining three are currently undergoing treatment," SP City Arun Kumar Singh told
The deceased have been identified as Ruby (40), and their children Dileep (8) and Devi (13). Her husband Brijesh (50), and two other children – Pallavi (5), and Gudia (15) – are reported to be in stable condition.
SDM Kuraoli Neeraj Dwivedi said that the administrative team is currently assessing the extent of the damage. "The government will provide the affected family with the necessary financial assistance as per norms," he added.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination, and further administrative proceedings are underway.
