Thane, March 2 A section of a road collapsed in Majiwada, Thane city, on Monday, leaving a truck stranded in the resulting crater, although no one was injured, an official said.
The incident occurred around 2:30 pm near Param Hospital on the arterial LBS Road, he said.
"No one was injured in the incident. Personnel from the Kapurbawdi police station, the disaster management cell, the water supply department, and the PWD arrived at the scene immediately with an excavator and other equipment," said Yasin Tadvi, chief of the Thane Municipal Corporation's disaster management cell.
Efforts are underway to remove the stranded truck and to repair the damaged portion of the road as quickly as possible, Tadvi added.
