Malegaon Blast Investigation: RSS Reacts to Former ATS Chief's Claims.webp

Mumbai, March 18 Reacting to the allegations made by former Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad chief K P Raghuvanshi about the "pressure" he faced during the investigation of the 2008 Malegaon blast case from the UPA government, an RSS official has said that if such things had happened, it was unfortunate.

Raghuvanshi, in his biography "Troubleshooter," has claimed that he was removed as ATS chief after he refused to arrest RSS leader Indresh Kumar due to lack of evidence in the Malegaon blast case.

According to the book written by journalist Jitendra Dixit, Raghuvanshi was summoned to Delhi and was asked to arrest Kumar. Raghuvanshi declined, citing lack of evidence, following which he was removed from his post, the book claims.

Asked about the book at a press conference here on Tuesday, RSS Konkan region executive Vitthalrao Kamble said, "None of us were present when all these incidents happened. If these things happened, it was unfortunate. That is all we can say now."
