
Baharampur (WB), April 5 West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee led a vibrant procession in Baharampur town on Sunday, which is considered the stronghold of senior Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.
The TMC supremo walked along the narrow streets of the Murshidabad district headquarters as people gathered to see the CM.
Banerjee greeted the people with folded hands and shook hands with some individuals as she led hundreds of participants in the rally.
TMC flags lined the 1.6-km route from Girja More to Khagra Chowrasta, as the participants carried banners and placards.
The TMC has nominated Naru Gopal Mukherjee to contest against Chowdhury and the incumbent BJP MLA, Subrata Maitra, in Baharampur.
